Responsibilities:The OpportunityThe purpose of the Manufacturing EHS Manager is to oversee and manage all aspects of environmental, health, and safety practices within a manufacturing facility. Their primary goal is to ensure that manufacturing operations are conducted in compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies while promoting a culture of safety and sustainability.Your ImpactAs Environment, Safety & Healthy Manager your scope would consist of:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive HSE strategies, policies, and programs tailored to the unique challenges and opportunities within the manufacturing area, aligning with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to EHS teams and operational stakeholders across multiple locations, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of EHS risks and opportunities within manufacturing area, focusing on Foods segment and related activities, and develop risk mitigation plans accordingly.
  • Lead accident and incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation for EHS related events, ensuring lessons learned are shared and integrated into manufacturing processes.
  • Establish and maintain effective EHS management systems, including policies, procedures, training, and performance metrics, to drive consistent EHS performance and compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Supply, Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Quality Assurance, to integrate EHS considerations into the design, planning, and execution of manufacturing initiatives.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and manufacturing best practices related to EHS, proactively identifying emerging risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and partners, covering topics such as hazard identification, emergency response, and health and safe work practices.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with regulatory agencies, associations, vendors, customers and community stakeholders, representing the company’s interests and promoting mutual understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on HSE performance, trends, and initiatives to senior management and other stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Cultivate a skilled, motivated, and high-performing team that can effectively contribute to the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Identify the strengths and areas for improvement of the team members and provide opportunities for skill development.
  • Strive to keep the team members engaged and motivated by recognizing their contributions, providing meaningful work assignments, and fostering a positive work environment. Encourage open communication, feedback, and collaboration to empower employees to reach their full potential.
  • Play a key role in identifying and grooming future leaders within the organization. Assess the potential of the team members for leadership roles, provide opportunities for development, and ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities when needed.

Qualifications:Who Are We Looking For?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degree in EHS or professional certifications is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in EHS management, with a focus on manufacturing or related sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant EHS regulations and standards, including OSHA, and ISO 45001, ISO14001, with a proven track record of ensuring compliance.
  • Experience in leading and participating in internal and external audits of EHS management systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve EHS goals and objectives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic EHS initiatives, driving continuous improvement, and achieving measurable results.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and presentation skills, with experience using EHS software systems and tools for data management and visualization.
  • The skill to manage and coordinate projects related to EHS, defining timelines, resources, and measurable targets to achieve concrete results.
  • – The capacity to communicate clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing, to engage employees, partners, and external stakeholders on the company’s EHS journey.
  • – Capability to identify and manage EHS-related risks, minimizing potential negative impacts on company operations.
  • – The encouragement of innovation and creativity to find solutions and develop new approaches to EHS challenges.
  • – Being up-to-date with applicable EHS laws and regulations, and ensuring the company’s compliance with these standards.
  • – The skill to negotiate and establish strategic partnerships with other stakeholders, companies, organizations, and institutions to strengthen EHS efforts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Spanish and English is mandatory.
